Organic Farming at the Pacific coast

This is a working organic farm that practices many practical and sustainable farming alternatives, and is a focal point on the coast of Ecuador for ecotourism and community environmental education. The organic farm promotes sustainable community development by means of local participation in tourism, production of crafts with local materials and creation and coordination of an environmental primary school. Ecotourism is an important pillar of the farm that generates funds to help support the farm and education/extension projects. The main project of the farm is The Community Environmental School which has been running since 1993, and is the first school of its kind in the area.

Rio Muchacho is located about 30 minutes from Canoa, a small beach town about 10 hours from Quito by bus.
