Peluchitos Daycare Centre

Project Name:	Peluchitos Daycare Centre -Playing with children ages 3-5 years old in a daycare center
Project Location:	Barrio La Unión, South Quito
Project Description:	Barrio La Unión is a poor neighborhood that sits on a steep hillside in the south of Quito, about 30 minutes on bus from our offices. The community is well organized and is working to create better futures for their children. Peluchitos has about 40 kids between ages 3-5.
Range of Tasks:	As a volunteer at this center, you will have the opportunity to play with the kids, whether in art projects, outdoor activities, or interactive educational games. In addition, music is often used during the day with the children. If you would like to stay for a longer amount of time, you are also welcome to work with the community, through teaching and helping in the school and daycare center. Specifically, you could also teach in areas of health and nutrition, early education, English, hygiene, and waste management.
Time Committment:	Minimum one month
Skills required:	One must be excited and willing to foster the growth and development of each child, and take a great interest in playing with them.
Schedule:	Mornings are better for working with the children, as the children nap from 1-3 and then leave by leave 5pm.
