Project Description: |
Parque Condor is a foundation which undertakes protection, rescue, rehabilitation, and possible reintroduction to their natural habitat, of birds of prey, vultures (Andean condor) and owls. These birds of prey are important environmental indicators, natural cleaners and important symbols in the Andean culture and many are now in danger of extinction within the region. The foundation aims to create an awareness of the seriousness of the environmental issues facing the Andean region, and promote sustainable attitudes to wildlife and their habitat, through tourism (visitors to the park) and educational programs.

Range of Tasks: |
Volunteers can undertake a range of tasks at the Parque Condor depending on their interests, time commitments and areas of expertise. A volunteer with specific experience in water management can assist the park with the management of its limited water resources. The park is also seeking a grant writer and fundraising researcher to help it to obtain support for planned additional education and rehabilitation projects. Other volunteers can assist Parque Condor with general maintenance and construction, along with tourism development activities.
