Yanapuma offers students and researchers the opportunity to carry out research and internships here in Ecuador as part of their academic studies.

Internships

We offer a list of specific internship opportunities with Yanapuma Foundation. These involve working as part of the foundation, in coordination with Yanapuma staff on specific ongoing projects of the foundation. Such internships are primarily work oriented rather than research projects, although some time will be allowed for carrying out assignments associated with fulfilling the academic requirements of your home institution. Interns will work for between 3 - 6 months in the office or in the field, or in a combination of the two.

Research

Yanapuma also offers research opportunities in a variety of fields associated with the mission of the foundation. Students will receive in-country supervision in tandem with their institution's academic advisor.

Yanapuma will provide:

·        Pre-arrangement of research sites, accommodation and meal costs, etc., prior to arrival in Ecuador

·        Discussion of research options, topics and possibilities prior to arrival in Ecuador

·        Orientation to Ecuador, culture, etc.

·        Regular meetings as appropriate to discuss methodology, theory, data gathering, problems that arise, etc.

·        Introductions to local experts in relevant fields.

·        Free internet use for those with their own laptops and paid computer access for those without
